Ethiopia is a year-round destination, with each season offering unique experiences depending on where you plan to travel.
October to February is generally considered the best time to visit. The rainy season has ended, the landscapes are lush and green, and the weather is pleasant for sightseeing, trekking, and wildlife viewing.

- Timkat (Epiphany) (January)
- Ethiopian Christmas (Genna) (January)
The Historic Route- including Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Lalibela, and Axum- can be visited throughout the year.
The Omo Valley is best visited during the dry months when roads are easier to access. From October to February is best time. Many traditional ceremonies and cultural events also take place just after the Harvest season.
For the Danakil Depression, the ideal travel season is also from November through February, when temperatures are cooler and conditions are more comfortable.
