EET 003 – HISTORIC ROUTE (North Ethiopia) – 8 days

Day 01- AM: Addis Ababa city tour. Visit Entoto Mountains with spectacular views over the capital and St. Mary Church and Mercato,the largest open air market in Africa.PM: Visit the National museum and Trinity Church where church treasures are displayed. O/N at your hotel.

Day 02 – AM: Fly to Bahir Dar and transfer to your hotel. PM: Visit Bezait Palace, with very nice view over Lake Tana; visit the papyrus boat production and Bahir Dar City Tour. O/N at your hotel

Day 03 – AM: Boat trip on Lake Tana to admire the beautiful monasteries over the Lake’s islands, as Ura Kidane Mehret and Mahal Zeghie Gyorgis.PM: Drive to admire the Blue Nile falls.

Day 04 – AM: Drive to Gondar for a full day visit of castles and churches in Gondar: visit the castle’s compound, the Debre Birhan Sellasie Church (Light of Trinity) with wonderful murals, the King Fasiladas bath, the old Qusquam monastery, Empress Mentewab palace and more. O/N Gondar.

Day 05 -AM: Drive to Debark. Make horse rid and short walks inSemien Mountains National Park, admiring spectacular views,spot some endemic mammals (as the gelada baboons), birds,very nice flora. O/N at your Hotel.

Day 06 – AM: Drive to Axum through spectacular views of Tekeze Valley. PM: Visit the steles, the bath and the palace of Queen of Sheba and St Mary of Tsion church (where according to legend it houses the Ark of the Covenant). O/N at your hotel.

Day 07 – AM: Fly to Lalibela, considered by some as the 8th wonder of the world, there are 11 rock hewn curchs dating back to the 13thC . Visit the first cluster of the rock-hewn churches. PM: Visit the second cluster of churches. O/N at your hotel.

Day 08 – AM: Visit the cave church of Naktuleab. PM: Fly back to Addis Ababa, do some souvenir shopping.Evening: Farewell dinner and traditional dances before departure for home.

EET 004 – HISTORIC ROUTE (Circuit tour to North) – 11 days

Day 01 – AM: Addis Ababa city tour. Visit Entoto Mountains with spectacular views over the capital and St. Mary Church and Mercato, the largest open air market in Africa.PM: Visit the National museum and Trinity Church where church treasures are displayed. O/N at hotel.

Day 02 – AM: Drive to Bahir Dar, on the way visit the Debre Libanos monastery, and drive over the Blue Nile gorge with spectacular views. Arrive late afternoon Bhirdar. O/N hotel.

Day 03 – AM: Boat trip on Lake Tana to admire the beautiful monasteries over the lake’s islands, as Ura Kidane Mehret and Mahal Zeghie Gyorgis.PM: Morning drive to admire the Blue Nile falls. O/N hotel.

Day 04 – AM: Drive to Gondar, city of castles and churches. PM: Afternoon visit the castles and churches in Gondar: visit the castle’s compound, the Debre Birhan Sellasie church (light of Trinity) with wonderful murals, the King Fasiladas bath, the old Qusquam monastery. O/N at your hotel.

Day 05 – AM: Drive to visit the Semien Mountains. Make mule ride and short walks as spectacular scenery unfolds before your eyes, spot some endemic mammals (as the Gelada Baboons), birds, and very nice flora. O/N Debark.

Day 06 – AM: Drive to Axum through spectacular views. PM: Short relaxing walk around town, visit to small shops. O/N Axum

Day 07 – AM: Visit of Axum, the steles, the bath and the palace of Queen of Sheba and St Mary of Tsion church (where according to legend it houses the Ark of the covenant). PM: Drive to Hawzen. O/N at your hotel.

Day 08 – AM/PM: Visit some very interesting rock hewn churches of Tigray, as Wikro Cherkos, and Abreha We Atsbeha church and Degum Selassie, dating back to the fourth century. O/N at your hotel in Mekele.

Day 09 – AM: Drive to Lalibela, admiring spectacular views. O/N at your hotel. Day 10 – Full day visit of the 11 rock-hewn churches in Lalibela, defined as the 7th wonder in the world.

Day 11- AM: Visit the cave church of Naktuleab and fly back to Addis. PM: Souvenir shoppings, traditional dances and dinner. Departure for home.
